Porter Insurance in Alexis and Chuck Hay Insurance in Galva & Galesburg became the Porter-Hay Insurance agency in early 2016. The two long standing independent agencies had slightly different focuses. While both agencies had focused on Home & Auto personal lines business as well as health insurance, Chuck Hay had a strong focus on commercial business and Porter Insurance on Farm and Multi-Peril business. The agency is licensed in 6 different states and together we offer expertise in virtually all lines of business.
- In September of 2017 PHI purchased the Carl Swanson Agency of Galesburg and moved that business into our newly constructed office.
- In June of 2018 we purchased the Ron James Agency in Oquawka and continue to operate in Oquawka with Ron’s longtime CSR.
- In December of 2018 we purchased the Kiddoo Agency from Doug and Barb Kiddoo in Joy. This office now operates out of Aledo.
- In January of 2019 PHI purchased the Orville Minteer Agency in Andalusia. Kyle Johnson and his staff continue to operate that book of business.
- In March of 2021 PHI purchased the Bill Farm Agency. This book of business was moved into our Alexis office.
- In April of 2021 the Cratty Agency in Galesburg was purchased. Mark Cratty moved into our Galesburg office and continues to take care of his book of business
- In July of 2023, we purchased Blaser Agency in Moline and Insurance Exchange Agency in New Windsor. Ted Blaser continues to work with his clients in our Moline office. Angie Spivey from IEA will take care of her clients from our Galesburg office
