Derek joined the Porter-Hay Agency in June of 2019. He received a bachelor and masters degree from Western Illinois University and will be focusing on Farm and Crop Insurance. He lives at Oak Run with his wife Annie where their three children Brody, Braxton, and Riggins keep them busy and entertained. Derek enjoys boating, golfing, and helping on his family’s farm outside of Alexis and is involved in coaching youth sports. He also is engaged in running a Memorial Fund that supports families in need and community wide improvement projects.
Debbie joined Porter Insurance in 2000 as an Insurance Agent. Prior to joining the agency, Debbie was a claims adjuster for 6 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University. She is very involved in the community including Kiwanis Club and serving as a board member of the United School District. Debbie and her husband Andy have 3 daughters and reside on a farm. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her children’s sporting events.
Eric has been in the insurance industry since 2012. He graduated from Monmouth College with a degree in Business Administration. He resides in Monmouth with his wife and daughter. Eric is a member of the Monmouth Noon Lions Club, an Assistant Basketball Coach for Monmouth-Roseville High School, and volunteers for various youth sports leagues. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and attending sporting events.
Gunner grew up in Galva, IL and started working for Porter-Hay in 2023. He graduated from Illinois College with a double Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management and Economics. In his free time, he enjoys going to sporting activities, being outdoors, and working on the family’s farm.
Jackie started working with the agency in 2006. She has worked in both personal and commercial insurance. She is married to Matt Cain who is a Captain on the Galesburg Fire Department and they have two boys, Andrew and Lucas. They farm outside Rio, raising cattle and hogs. She enjoys watching her kids show their animals at the fair, and she loves to cook.
Kyle started in the insurance business in 1988 with Orville Minteer & Associates and was that agency’s President until joining Porter-Hay in 2019. Kyle has over 30 years’ experience in personal lines, commercial lines and life and health insurance and is licensed in Illinois and Iowa. Kyle lives in Andalusia, IL with his wife Brandy, who also works in the agency. Kyle and Brandy have 5 adult children and are avid Mississippi River boaters during the summer.
Mark started in the insurance business in 2012 with Cratty Insurance Agency, Inc. He was born and raised in Galesburg, then graduated from Monmouth College with a degree in Business Administration. He resides in Galesburg with his wife Taylor, children Elise, and Logan. Mark is also a realtor with Century 21, serves on the Knights of Columbus #556, Crime Stoppers board, and TIPS Club. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his family, golfing and the Chicago Cubs.
Lena grew up in Rio, IL and graduated from ROWVA High School in 2014. Lena then furthered her education at Monmouth College obtaining a degree in Business Administration in December of 2017. While in high school and college, she worked at the Galesburg Target as a team member as well as promoting to leadership roles. She then moved to Dubuque, IA to took an assistant store management position with Target in 2020. After 11.5 years in retail and retail management, Lena decided to move back to the Rio area in January of 2024 and started her career in insurance. In her free time she enjoys camping, hiking, golfing, anything outdoors. When Lena finds herself inside, she is typically cuddled up with her cats Duke and Dexter binge watching Netflix.
Suzy began her insurance career in 2005 with State Farm and started with Porter Hay in September 2021. She is licensed in all personal lines of insurance and is certified in annuities as well. She has a passion for life insurance in particular. Suzy lives in Aledo with her boyfriend, Jimmy who is a Mercer County Sherriff’s Deputy and their dog, Rhianna, who is a retired K9 for the MCSO. Suzy is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Buffalo Prairie and the VFW Auxiliary in Aledo. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends & family, reading, cooking and cheering on the Chicago Cubs, even when it’s a “wait til next year” kind of season.
Ted has been in the insurance business 35 years. Ted and his wife Diane have four grown children and six grandchildren, with another one on the way. Ted and his family go up to Brainerd, Mn every year to fish and relax. Some of Ted’s hobbies are fishing, disc golf and cheering on his Steelers and Pirates.
Lynn started with Chuck Hay now Porter-Hay in the Spring of 2014. She lives in Galva with her husband Chad. They have three daughters Danielle (Dani), Kaci and Jaymi. She is an avid sports fan, rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Michelle began her insurance career in 1998 with a Country Financial agent then moved to Compass Insurance Partners in Leroy, IL in 2010 where her focus for the next ten years was Volunteer Fire Districts and Emergency Responders. In 2021 Michelle moved to the Galesburg area and joined Porter Hay in May. Michelle earned her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation in 2010 and the Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2020. She lives at Oak Run with her boyfriend Geoff Schoonover who is the Superintendent of the Knoxville IL School District #202. Michelle has two grown children, Zach (Erica) and Rachael (TJ) and nine grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, exploring her new neighborhood and spending time with her family.
Alyssa lives in Galesburg Il with her fiancé Jose, Australian shepherd/Blue heeler Ren, and 2 cats. She went to Carl Sandburg College and graduated with an associates in arts. In her free time she enjoy putting together puzzles , taking long walks with her dog, and spending time with her family.
Bethany started working with Porter Hay in 2019 after working in banking for 5 years. Bethany lives in Monmouth with her husband, Zach and 2 daughters, Huxley and Lennox. In her spare time she enjoys baking and crafting with her daughters, being outside and spending time with her family and friends.
Brandy started with Orville Minteer & Associates in 2012 and became a licensed property/casualty CSR prior to joining Porter-Hay in 2019. She lives in Andalusia IL with her husband Kyle, who also works in the agency. Brandy and Kyle have 5 adult children and in the summer enjoy boating from their riverfront home.
Hannah has been in the insurance industry since 2013. She graduated with an Associate’s degree from Black Hawk College in 2010. She enjoys helping people and has worked in the customer service field her entire working life. She resides in rural Galva, IL with her daughter Arleigh, and her boyfriend Zack. In her spare time Hannah enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, decorating, and being outdoors.
Heather resides with her family in Morrison. She started her insurance career as an agent in 2012, writing both personal and commercial policies for a small agency. She went on to sharpen her commercial insurance expertise with a global brokerage in 2017, before coming to Porter-Hay as Senior Commercial Account Manager in 2024. In her free time, Heather enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, kayaking, hiking, and reading. During the Spring and Summer her family is frequently found supporting her brother at the racetrack. She is a diehard fan of the Chicago Bears & Chicago Cubs, and tries to make it to a couple games each year.
Kelly started her career with Progressive Insurance Riverview, FL in 2003 and returned home to the Midwest in 2022. She is licensed in Iowa and Illinois. Kelly lives in Clinton, IA with her husband Randy and 4 Hungarian Puli’s. They have 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren. Together Kelly and her husband Randy rebuilt and customized their 1970 VW Beetle. In her free time, Kelly loves spending time with her family, driving her VW Bug, collecting and restoring antiques, cooking , and gardening.
Rayanne Harrison started with Porter-Hay in August of 2021. Graduated from Illinois State University in 2018 and moved back to Galesburg in 2020. Rayanne has a half Australian-Shepherd and Border Collie named Huckleberry, and she is very obsessed with him. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and shopping at Target way too often.
Trudy started at Porter-hay in 2023, and was born and raised in Bishop Hill, helping her dad on the farm. She has 6 years of experience working in customer service. Trudy cherishes time spent with loved ones, including her three dogs, and her boyfriend Cody. Outside of work Trudy enjoys going to concerts, drag races, fishing, and an abundance of tomatoes.
Chad started with Chuck Hay Insurance in 1997 and took over as President of Porter-Hay in 2018. Chad and his wife Amy have two children Lexi and Cayden. He has served on numerous boards including Secretary of the Planning Commission for City of Galva, Galva Economic Development Council, Finance Officer for the Hagburg-Hamilin American Legion Post, OSF Health Insurance Agents Advisory board, IMT Commercial Insurance Agents Advisory board and Finance Officer for Western Illinois QDMA Chapter. In his spare time Chad enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and working on wildlife conservation projects on the family ground.
Amy started with Chuck Hay Insurance in 2012. She has earned her CISR designation. Amy, her husband Ryan and three kids live on a small hobby farm outside of Bishop Hill where they enjoy raising cattle, sheep, goats, hogs and chickens. Amy has been very active in the community in multiple organizations including Rotary, Scouts, 4-H, and volunteering at the school. She enjoys cooking and reading in her spare time.
